Alarm problems with my ford puma?

could anyone help me. my ford puma has started to get an alarm problem. everytime i open the drivers door with the key it will go off, but if i open it via the penger side door it will not go off. has anyone got any tips??? does anyone know where the alarm is on the car so i can diactivate it for a short term fix??? any help will be most appreciated.
